Default Check engine light

I have a 1997 Civic CX. The check engine light is on. Had the code checked and it read that it was the 02 sensors. They have been replaced but the light is still on. Any ideas?

It could be a cut wire. Are you using oem parts? I have problems with non oem o2 sensers. Some times a massive exhaust leak will throw codes dose you car sound loud as hell?

What codes exactly? There is about 5 related to your car.

Did you reset the ECU after replacing the O2?

For the love of god stop implying that 'non-oem' parts are inferior. There is no such thing as an oem part, they just rebox someone elses.

as long as you get a application specific o2 sensor and not a universal one you're not likely to have any problems

as to the OP, what was the initial code? Alot of times you can get a bad o2 code when its not the o2 sensor that was causing the problem, something further up the line could have been causing the o2 sensor to be wack.

True, I just do not know what company makes Honda o2 sensers damn. I'm not a parts person or have any access to parts catalogs or I would look it up and recommend the cheaper alternative. Most of the bottom of the barrel parts are crap I have put in some junk 02 senser from napa for 50$ don't get me wrong it worked but only for about 6 months.

Ya we need the original code to help you figure it out.

werd we still need a code

as for oem o2 vs aftermarket ... you should never have a problem as long as you buy a direct fit. it's the cheapy universal ones that will get you in trouble.

Codes P0135 and P0141. Both sensors have been changed. Still won't reset.
