Default hydroplane = curb

so last night was driving my 93 civic hatch. hydroplaned while going around a turn and ended up not only naiing tthe curb but sending me over the curb in into the field beside it. I ended up bending all four rims, which a buddy of mine had an extra set of steelies alying around replaced those. But now im wondering what to look at to see if the cars suspension is destoryed and waht not any advice will help

slow down next time!

pull the wheels, look for bent parts, see if the thing drives straight & listen for noises while driving.

i don't get any noise while driving and nothing was visablly bent, but the steering wheel is about 10 degrees to the left to stay driving straight. And i was actualy traveling between 40-50 mph unfortuntlly texas isn't the best place to live for safe roads at the moment

Not to preach but this is why I always ask people why they are in such a rush especially in the rain. Why risk driving so fast where all it takes is 5mph too fast and end up loosing your pride and joy or even worse your life.

As others have said, just get an allignment. They won't charge just to take a look at things while they have the car (or they shouldn't) but I wouldn't worry unless you hear noises or allignment doesn't fix it.

I've also gone off the road (on ice) b/c of screwing around w/ handbrake :chuckles: back when I had my Prelude but lucky for me all that happened was some grass/dirt got stuck between the rim and tire :10q:

What does the tread look like on your tires? I was surprised how much more grip I have with my new tires compared to the cheapos that came on it [edit: which had a lot of wear on fronts], despite the fact that the new ones narrow down to a smaller footprint(for water/snow/ice).

the tread on the front was basiclly bald. And i just got back from the allignment shop and they tried alliging it but both rear wheels have to much negative camber for them to adjust out, along with the front right have a little to much negative camber and is also toed out just a bit. I know i can shim the rear wheels but how much can you shim it before it's no longer safe. And as for the front wheel do i need to get a samber kit up there and what about the toe issue?
