Default power window connection problem!!!

Hey guys,

I have a civic 96 sedan... when i had purchased the car it was fully stock, so the first thing i put an alarm in there!!! Now, i've had it for a few months but the connection between the door and the body is starting to come loose every now n then when i open the door all the way n the only way for the front windows to operate is for me to push the connection in place again...

How can i lock the connection and make sure it stays there, cos its really annoying everytime i want to open my front windows but realising that i have to open the door n push the connection in properly!!!!? PLEASE HELP....

P.S. the connection im talkin about is between the hinges that hold the door to the body of the car when you open the door... DRIVER SIDE OF COURSE!!!

Thanks.

youre probably just not pushing them together hard enough. do you hear them click when you connect them? These clips are especially tricky to get fully seated because of the awkward location.

Yer, well i hear a clicking noise when i open the door the full way but i dont think its the connectors then cos it sounds like the hinges of the door... Although, when i push in the connectors its a very mild push and then the windows work... that simple!!!

i tried to super glue it but cos it was awkward place as u said... i didnt manage to make it lol... Its getting very annoying now!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

make sure theres no dibris or sand in the end of the connector because that will cause it to never fully seat. as long as theres nothing in there, put a flat head screwdriver on the edge of the connector and try to get some good leverage on it and push it as hard as you can. you should hear a little click when the 2 connectors are fully seated.

I had similar trouble when I converted my old 96 hatch (the one I made the how-to with).

its probably the wires in between the door and the cab. especially the drivers door (since it is opend and closed the most.) what happens is the wires become brittle and crack or break. im sure if you pulled it apart you would find the wires hanging together by a strand or two. my sister in laws car does the same shit. i see it all the time at work. its 90% of the time the wiring on the drivers side. cut back the rubber loom and inspect all wires.

if you are digging around inside the door, then you are at the wrong place. you dont need to remove door skin or anything. just the rubber loom that runs between the door and the cab. ive never seen a connector come loose on a honda.
