Default LSD Question

My next mod I plan for my Sol is to get limited slip. I have always wondered the pro's and con's to Quaife vs. swapping a D15B transmission that has LSD already. It will be going into/replacing my D16Z6 tranny.

Lsd helps you plant both tires in the strait away and helps launching however it can hurt you in the turns. Both tires in a turn rotate at different speeds a lsd in design trys to prevent you tires a rotating at different speeds so you don't spin one tire.

All and all I think its a +

LSD does not hurt you in the turns, in fact that is where it helps you the most. It keeps the outside wheel on pace with the inside wheel via mechanical, viscous, clutch type means. LSD applies power from the wheel that is slipping to the other wheel that has more traction. When turning the outside wheel will have the most traction as the inside wheel has a greater tendency to lift.

I know what LSD does...

I am wondering if I should go with Quaife or should I get a JDM D15B tranny.

If you plan to put more than 200-250lbs of Torque through that tranny then get the quaife.

btw.. if my new LSD wasn't all the way inside my tranny right now covered in oil, i'd give it a big slobbery kiss coz it's amazing! I love it!

Well I'm running 190ft/lb right now, and that is on a stock block. I plan on eventually putting more than 250.
