On my Integra there is a 12mm? bolt holding the back of the seat down. Once I remove that I just pull the back of the seat up and unhook the holders. Then it should be pretty much self explanatory to remove the seat backs. Thats how my Integra is and I'm pretty sure thats how it is in a Civic hatch.

the back rests just unbolt from the mounts.

the bottom seat has a 10 or 12mm bolt in the center at the back of the seats (closer to the trunk). the bottom seat also has to big metal clips one at each corner. they pop out but damn there were tough to pop out on mine.

I easily get to it with a socket and a universal joint or since you have the backs of the seats off you could just get to it with a wrench.
