your friend really doesnt like second gear does he. does he get good times? its sounds like he never comes out of first and that he runs out of gear a few times on the straight aways.

Actually my fastest times were in 1st gear. I ran in 2nd a couple of times, but I dropped 1.5 seconds staying in 1st

really? just that course, or are you doing that for the majority of courses now. i really want to autocross sometime soon, but the seasons about over. i think my car is set up pretty well for it with the low end power of jrsc. its just whether i can drive that well or not. i'm thinking i'd spend most of my time in 2nd gear because 1st is so short for me. that and its hard as hell to downshift to first when rolling.

Well I recommend to all novices to stay in 2nd. Newbies cannot handle the power as efficiently. Staying in 2nd keeps you smoother which is the biggest key to autocrossing.

Give it a try. Autocrossing is one of the easiest motorsports to get involved in. Lots of pros started out there - Peter Cunningham, Neal Sapp, etc...

Read my help page in my sig.

Read the sentence again. It wasn't me.

He stalled the car, and flooded the engine.
