Default clutch in, engine stalls

clutch in, engine stalls

Well when im driving down the road and i go to slow down, when i put the clutch in the RPMs drop real low and then come back up to around 1200. Sometimes, if the clutch is pressed in around 3000 or higher, the RPMs will drop and the car will just stall. It starts right back up, but this is a big issue! any ideas?

BTW, this is a b18c swap in a 94 civic.

What ECU are you running? How light is your flywheel?

I was having the same issue with my car. I was stalling with a 9lb flywheel only after the car was warmed up. After I was tuned, the problem went away, so I speculate it was a fuel problem (too rich/lean in that portion of the map).

yes that can definatly be the problem. you have altered the rotational weight which will require an adjustment for compensation in your fuel map & possibly a slight timming change due to the weight change.

Noticable difference, especially at idle.

obviously it would be more promenent after the car is warmed up due to the lower rpm's that it would be sitting at durring this time vs. cold start.

well...i dont have a FITV installed at all. i plan on doing that today. it idles at a steady 1200. does anybody think maybe the power booster would have anything to do with it? i had been having issues with the brakes for awhile and i adjusted the brake booster and fixed it. but now that im able to drive the car this problem has come up.

I've read a lot about people with lightened flywheels having this happen. Do you need to tune to compensate for the lightened flywheel?

i adjusted where it connects to the pedal. It wasnt on all the way and was making my brakes drag BAD. There wasnt any free play in the pedal at all. now theres about 5mm.

that was done before the motor was put together and installed.
