The light will not go on when door is open. It works when the light is on ON position but when its in the middle it will not go on when door is open. Any thoughts?

 

There's a toggle in the door jam. Perhaps the wire has corroded. If it does it for all 4 of them, check fuses (unlikely because other electronics would probably be affected) or I dunno

 

Yes, check the toggle as it may get stuck at times.

My first questions would also be do you have the stock radio in it? If not, you probably lost the dome light function when the radio was removed.

 

really? It has some aftermarket radio. Why would radio affect dome light?

 

96-98 civics run the keyless entry and alarm throgh the stock head unit
if it is removed then the dome light along with keyless and alarm will not work correctly

was it working previously and just stopped working one day, did you mess with the stereo recently?
