There is some deep scratches. But I do think that most of it will come out. I just dont want to put new cams in it and mess them up. The cams that cam out were messed up bad. Almost like the dude used them from another head that he might have F'd up. I also dont want lose cams.

 

if the scratches are really deep a line bore isnt going to help much at all. i would blame that on installer error from the previous owner.

 

With that said, pick up another head.

 

Do you think running low on oil could cause this or is it just improper installation. I ran my b16 low on oil for a while and didnt see anything like that but I did see scrathes (not that bad) on my bearings.

 

could be the result of a bad oil pump

 

if it's a bad oil pump the bearings would also likely be fucked

 

I still gotta pull the bottom end apart. I hope I don't find anyting else fucked up! I've been checking on my head for a few days now and It looks like It should be fixable. The scratches are bad but not bad enough that It cant be fixed. Even talked to the guys at Honda.

 

take it to a machine shop and see if they can do anything

 

Thats what I've been trying to find. There aren't many shops around here that do that kind of work. I've only found one shop that only works on heads and i haven't been able to talk to anyone about it yet. It sucks!!
