Dude from the look of the pics the head just looks like normal wear. What I would do is, Try to polish it up as good as you can. Or machine it. But as long as you can polish it up and have it nice and smooth you will not have any issues. I have done this time and time again. Nothing goes wrong.
There is some deep scratches. But I do think that most of it will come out. I just dont want to put new cams in it and mess them up. The cams that cam out were messed up bad. Almost like the dude used them from another head that he might have F'd up. I also dont want lose cams.
Do you think running low on oil could cause this or is it just improper installation. I ran my b16 low on oil for a while and didnt see anything like that but I did see scrathes (not that bad) on my bearings.
if it's a bad oil pump the bearings would also likely be fucked
I still gotta pull the bottom end apart. I hope I don't find anyting else fucked up! I've been checking on my head for a few days now and It looks like It should be fixable. The scratches are bad but not bad enough that It cant be fixed. Even talked to the guys at Honda.

Reason: oops
take it to a machine shop and see if they can do anything
Thats what I've been trying to find. There aren't many shops around here that do that kind of work. I've only found one shop that only works on heads and i haven't been able to talk to anyone about it yet. It sucks!!
