Default accelerating problem

i have 95 dx w/ d15b7 engine/manual. i just have intake and header. i don't know if wires and sparks matter, but i have 10.3mm wires, and ngk iridium plugs. ok here's the problem. whenever i accelerate at any gear, it'd accelerate relativly slow, but after 3800 or 4000 rpm it'd start accelerate really fast. so i'm getting 0-40 slower than 40-60.... is tht normal? any idea 'd be nice....thank you

You have a D15B7, thats all there is to say. Your motor isn't built to haul ass, it's made for economy, and those 10.3mm plug wires are useless. There isn't anything wrong with your motor, it's just naturally slow. I don't mean to come off like an ass or anything but thats just the truth.

if i mini-me my engine w/ d16z6, what are the critical parts i need to replace? cuz i've tried searching mini-me procedure, but one post and another are different. some say, valve cover, distributor, and ecu. other says cam, timing belt, wires, and plugs. some even say to rewire the whole thing.

also, does it matter if i get valve cover from good engine or bad one? cuz i know a guy who has a dead d16z6 motor and he's about to throw it away. can i use those parts?

I don't really know what you'll need but instead of wasting time and mony on a mini-me I would just go with a Z6 long block, those things are dirt cheap.

You can do a ls/vtec for under 1500.

You'll also need to find a tranny, axles and shift linkage and also an ECU and possibly a harness to make the car driveable. This won't be done for just 1500.

To the OP you can get a Z6 at a junk yard for around 400.

if it ran without oil the entire rotating assembly is most likely trash
