I have a 91 civic with a 1.5 engine with 257,000 miles on it. The oil light as started staying on for a few seconds(3-4) when I start it then goes out. I had the problem once before about a year ago and changed the oil pump relief valve and spring and the oil pressure was stable after that at 60 psi when driving. In the last couple of days the oil pressure is about 60 when I start it but as the oil warms up it starts dropping off, also when the engine revs the pressure slowly drops off to about 15 psi. I suspect that the oil pump is going out but due to the amount of work involved and the cost of some of the parts I would like to get someone elses opinion. Any help would be appreciated.

 

for starters you could try posting in the right forum, did you try and do a search for related problems
