Default Noise coming from engine at 3450 RPM-3550 RPM

It sounds like a metal on metal contact, and possibly a loose metal part hitting another metal part. It only happen at around 3500 RPM on my 99 civic EX. Any ideas?

Heat shield from your exhaust manifold? I had the same issue with my old 97 LX once... just ripped it off and stopped the problem.

possibly needs a valve adjustment, but im leaning toward the heat shield idea.
kind of hard to diagnose a sound over the internet

only thing it does is reflect the heat from going towards the radiator, I run a header with no header wrap and have never over heated so it would be fine if you took it off.

If its not the heat shield, its probably your catalyctic. Lift the car and have a buddy listen to what it is while you rev.
