Default cold start problem 1993 delsol crx 1.6i DOHC

hi any1 got any ideas girlfriends car will not start when it is cold, once running can start and stop okay. when left for a long period if time the problem reoccurs. the car will turn over okay but will not fire up, after about 3 mins of turing over car will fire up and be okay. already taken to garage and they have replaced rotor arm cost of £70.problem still there please help any ideas The car is a 1993 honda del sol 1.6I SIR DOHC CRX.

check fuel pressure. might be fuel filter or pump.

sounds like the PGM-FI relay (main relay) Usually happens when it is hot outside or when there is a change in temperature.

You can replace it, or re-solder the connections.

could be spark plugs, main relay,all sorts of things

Checked ECU for error codes showed on errors. Took out plug held to rocker cover got my girl to turn over engine spark seems weak. Once the car was started i ran it for a while then did the same check with the plugs the spark seems better. I checked the dizzy cap and it looks ok the rotor has been replaced any ideas on what to check for next. the fuel side seems ok.

Took the car back to the same garage they now think it is the ignition module that is causing the problem and want to charge me £200 POUND
for the job. I know i can get the part from honda from about £76 +vat
does any one know that this sounds right? Is it easy to fit? or can i get cheaper? h:

I gave up on garages and ordered a new distributor form the distributor king in
the States. I placed the order on the Friday it arrived on the Monday and
only cost all in £121. It took about 20mins to fit and when I turned over the
delsol for the first time in 2 weeks it purrrrred.GOOD JOB GOOD COMPANY AND GOOD SERVICE
