I think you got clean functional cars mixed up with JDM and JDM style.

The japanese love 17-18 inch bling bling rims with Veilside crazy kits and double decker GTR style wings with crazy 4 degree negative camber. Yeah...thats very JDM too the last time I checked.

I think that most folks that frequent this board are heavily influenced into the "JDM" look, but others still do the "show" route. I'm one of them. But as for me, I appreciate both sides of it. It's not necessary to bash either side.

But I like clean looking cars that are done tastefully. I could appreciate a car with a body kit, paint and huge wheels, just as much I would a car that is just lowered with 15's. The point is if it's clean and it's both fashionable and functional, then it's gravy.

Hmmm this sentence is kinda confusing me.

I checked out the site and it seems like you and your homies have some nice rides. You have a team and website and it looks like your trying to get things together. It seems like your having a fun time with this hobby and thats all its really about. I give you props for doing your thing and actually taking all the abuse in this post.

If I could look back at the things i did to my car (before the import scene blew up) I'd laugh my ass off. I can't belive i spent 400 bonez for my first intake.

i think that han is more function over form
we go for the milder things but we also go for things that are tastefully down
a good example is randomtask's car
he has a pretty aggressive body kit thats molded in, a wing, and a cf hood
but it flows and works for that car
everyone has their own opinion yes, and you dont post a pic of your car thinking that there will be no criticism

for me here is my thoughts
good: cleared headlights, no blue in them, DIY grill, pedals
bad: wing, all stickers, tachometer, led nozzles

also if you have been lurking for a while you should know the tastes an the ideas of the board
also not everyone is going to like your car
deal with it and hear what we have to say or go to another board its as easy as that

ohhhh yeah and on the mention of older rides
i had a 94 coupe ex with showoff front bumper, painted moldings and skirts, denjis with euro clears, gsr seats and a booming system.....look what i evolved to
BUT I was also the one of the first to have the showoff front, red/clear tails and euro clears........

its funny how now the only thing i would change would be jdm headlights and corners.....and the showoff bumper is still dope on 5th gen :fawk: (ok now im way off subject, sleep time!)

How much was the civic?
the civic cost me $9300 2 years ago (had a job then)

a dx will never be fast with out a TON invested in the motor. so why not go show?
i know the DX wont be fast, but i wanted it to have a little more pep than it does stock, just for my own satisfacion, not to win races. when i do finally get a job and more $$, the civic will probably turn into much more of a show car, and my integra will be the fast car.

I checked out the site and it seems like you and your homies have some nice rides. You have a team and website and it looks like your trying to get things together. thanks for the props on our site, it's not much, but it works

the other mod i really wanna get besides suspenions and wheels is a body kit, but that's not for a while

i think a tach was probably the most USEFULL thing you bought for your car.. i personaly would not have mounted it there.. but hey whatever floats your boat.. at least it is usefull.. there is NOTHING wrong with the most rediculous obnoxious fast adn furious show car in the world.. what i hate is lack of time and qaulity.... lets be honest.. your wing made NO differance.. it didn't.. end of story.. it is PURELY a look mod... and as rediculous as it is its your car, i thintk that the problem i have iwth it, is it just doesn't mate well with the stock hubcaps (get the picture) i understand not havign money.. trust me i do...i be you spent enought money on that civic to have swaped in that twin cam.... maybe im stretching it a little, but you get the idea.. i mean (NO DISRESPECT) but go outside and look at your car... its rediculous, imo.. but it is NOT my car..i do not think everyone needs stock wings and 15 in rims.. i think you should get what YOU like.. but if you want critisism and ideas.. the car SCREAMS ricer.. that is my HONEST opinion.. no hard feelings.. maybe a little harshness will help you focus on a good solid direction for your car..

well, i took off the flames today, but i still like the wing it stays. since the red of flames are gone, i got a nice black/white color scheme going, i really like it. i think im gonna definitely paint the inner part of the head lights, and i was thinking if i get the red/white tails, i could smoke the white part. what ya guys think ?

and i still need a body kit, haha
