Default Lower Ball Joint?

The other day I replaced the front right lower control arm on my 00 ex and found my passenger lower ball joint is busted. How do you replace those and is it hard to do?

Not too hard, just time consuming:
This is how I do it-
Remove the whole knuckle, pound out ball joint, pound in new ball joint using socket, replace knuckle. I won't list all of the steps.

Or use a press to take out and install the ball joint.

agreed. on a rusty one... it's a matter of patience. we used a 2x4 under the bottom of the broken LBJ, and hit it w/ a hammer till it came out. we basically did the same thing to put the new one in too...

I tried to remove mine with a press made by Powerbuilt which I rented. There was no adapter to fit so I took the knuckle to Honda where they pressed out the old one and pressed in the new one. I tried hammering but it didn't budge and looked rusted in there after 11 years.

Just use a BFH and beat it out. You can do it with the knuckle still on the car assuming it is rusted or seized.

Yeah. Smack the old one out of the knuckle and then smack the new one in.

What about the ring by the CV joint, I seem to remember having to take it off to get the balljoint up or else it would hit it?
