exactly my point. so drop it on for the over bore, it will come back with perfectly round & freshly honed cylinders & you can put your internals in with peice of mind. Let alone the fact that they will clean the block up for you.

.020 over bore is not a noticable difference, & not enough change in compression to even talk about. It's mearly just to clean up the cylinders

So then I would just get .020 over pistons, correct?

I was planing on doing the bottom end this winter when I had my Christmas bonus coming in and I could drop the insurance on the Civic. I guess I'll just start it now. Sucks, I wanted a street car but now it's just going to be a trailer queen. There's no way I'm building the motor and leaving it at 8psi.

I was just going off what David(2Gr8) was telling me. If it's around 80$ then I'm all for it.

Edit: oops "All the machine work costed me like 270, but the bore alone was only 100 bucks."

So I can order the .020 pistons right now, and when I get my block back they'll fit? I don't have to bring the pistons to the shop for clearances or anything? I want to order all my parts and bang everything out as soon as they come in.

i had my bore & hone done at my local machine shop for 80 bux.

It's always best to bring your pistons with the block when u drop them off so that the machineist can get exact measurements but every set of wiseco's that i've delt with have been dead on so u shouldn't have a problem. Just be sure to tell the machinist exactly what pistons that you are putting in there so that they can put the correct clearances in there.

Alright, sounds like a plan. Depending on how quickly the parts come in I might be able to make the 15th still.

So, since I'm taking the motor completely apart now, what else do I need? This is what I've covered so far..

.020 overbore
.020 over Wiseco 9.1 pistons
Whatever ring set comes with the Wisecos
Either Eagle or Tuner Toys rods
Both come with ARP rod bolts
ACL rod bearings
Felpro head gasket

I'll need a main bearing set now right with the thrust washer for the crank? Or can they be used more than once?

I know most shops wont do it unless they had the pistons with them, It more for a safety net more than anything.
