David just to let u know, it has a Type R Intake manifold and STOCK head bolts, not arp head studs.

The thing that is weird is that u can see some grind marking on the block but the stamping looks stock :dunno:

alright to clear some stuff up.

i know there is no jdm b18c5, the block is stamped b18c and it has a pr3 type r head so i would assume that it is a b18c type r. good point about the wire brush david, the stamp is still there and nothing been removed or anything so thats probly what it is.

how i got the motor...

i dropped off my cobra at the body shop to get my new trans put in and kevin(the owner) said josh come up and take a look at this for me. went up in the attic to find a b18c motor with a pr3 head and was like how did you get it? kevin said he lent the money to dave(old employee) so he could get it cause it was an awesome deal. dave however got caught stealing on tape like a retard so the he got fired and kevin needed to get rid of the motor. kevin told me 1900 and not a penny less, well when i went ot drop the car off again on friday i asked him about the motor. he said a guy was coming to pick it up for 1300, i shit myself. called on monday and the guy still hadnt picked up the motor so i snagged it. kevin knows the guy he got the motor from and he saw it run when it was boosted in the car it came out of so im not worrie about anything being wrong with motor. he also was able to confirm that the port job on the head was professional.

cliffnotes:
-body shop guy lent money to employee to get motor from a mutual friend
-employee caught stealing
-auto body guy needed to get rid of motor
-i snagged that shit for 1300
