Default Del Sol registration questions

Hey guys, a friend of mine who moved to Utah last year bough a DelSol this week. He called me up and asked what he has to do with this problem. The problem is that the VIN on the panel and the stickers on the doors are all identical BUT the engine and the firewall VINs are NOT. Chassis VIN is not identical to the one on the panel (behind the windshield). What does this mean? What can be done here? Are there any potential problems that he will run into, like insurance or something like that? Yeah, kind of a weird question but just curious myself. Thanks in advance.

Match the title up with the VIN on the windshield....that should be all you have to do.

The title actually does have the panel's VIN and the sticker's. Engine with the firewall do not match with the title. His biggest concern is that incase, God forbid, he gets into an accident will insurance company f*uck him over? If they detect that the chassis VIN does not match the title VIN, will they still cover him, pay for the damages?

He tried to speak with the owner but it seems that he's no longer in that building, and it was a Mexican doode, no offense intended. He might have fleed back to Mexico or something . But my buddy LOVES the car, nothing wrong with it, just this number game.

the SOL never had the VIN on the engine 93-95 not sure of 96+ tho but it shouldn't matter the on the engine as they go bad and get replaced . as long as the title and the car matches your ok.

So did he have any probs with insurance?

And like I said before, the Title matches the panel's VIN BUT NOT the chassis', on the firewall. So basically the title does not match the chassis, only the panel by the windshield. And that could have been replaced I guess. So any ideas on what can be done here, so that he won't get harrassed by insurance in case of an accident? Talk about being out of luck.
