Stock Radio...
Yo guys, I have a 1998 Civic LX.
A time ago I installed an aftermarket radio on that part where the CD Player or tape deck is supposed to go.
And yeah, I disconnected the stock radio (I didn't install the aftermarket radio where the stock radio was because my car has carbon fiber insterts and the radio was silver and it would of have looked a little f*cked up if I had installed it there) The thing is, I want to connect the stock radio again and leave it as a clock because it's starting to bug me to see it all shut off there and dead.
And the background light is dead too and I was planning to try and fix that also.
If I connect the radio back again, I'm pretty sure it'll ask me for the code the second I connect it back again... Anyway possible to leave it as a clock or crack the code or something?
Thnx

no code needed for you, just wire it up
for 96-98 civics the keyless module was in the radio, so there are aftermarket wiring kits to keep the stock radio with power but wire in an aftermarket head unit, one of these kits would work perfect for you
or you can just hack apart the wires and do it yourself if you want to
splice and run power, ground, illumination, ignition and i think thats all you need

Great news for me then... I'll take the radio out and fix the background light and leave the thing as a clock. Best thing is that this stock radio has no tape or cd thing on it, So they wouldn't bug to break in to steal it. Another good thing is that the aftermarket radio is actually down there
so I just press the cup holders top so it jumps off and hides the radio pretty well.
Another thing, For the tachometer and speedometer things... The background light is green and It's got me tired too lol. Where can I find something to change the background stuff of it? I want it look like the Mitsubisgi Lancer Evo, it's all black and the lights are red.

you can search around and find some diy's where people use leds to change the color of the center console including radio and the guage cluster
if you want to make everything red then thats what i would do, pretty cheap and not too difficult from the looks of things
