To drain or not to drain...
I'm about to replace my passenger side axle on my 96 civic in a couple days and I have read the write-ups on how to do it. None of them mention draining the tranny fluid, but I read in a few other threads that it needs to be drained. Does it need to be drained?

If your's is a manual tranny like mine, then you don't "need" to. If you look at your fill plug you will notice that it is at the same height or just below the bottom of your axle. However, since your down there anyways it is not a bad time to change your tranny fluid (if it is a manual).
