Which Tanabe are you guys referring to? I have the Racing Medallion on my SOHC, and yeah, right between 5500 and 6000ish it gets a little buzzy. Other than that, I have not heard a better sounding exhaust on a SOHC yet.
Now, when you put the silencer in (which I did once and learned my lesson) it sounds like poo. That I will not debate. But who uses that stupid ass thing anyway.
I think the N1 universal is about the raspiest exhaust I have ever heard.

My N1 is pretty loud, but straight pipe or Cherry Bomb exhausts are one of the loudest and annoying exhausts I've heard. Prolly get pull over for them too.

I don't get the point of a loud exhaust. I used to have the loudest piece of rice in town with a custom 2.5in pipe from my cat back to an Apexi Dunk universal... it was LOUD!!!

i vote for no exhaust!
my intermediate pipe on my stock exhast busted off and i dragged it the whole way home once. that was loud.... and highly embarassing...... of course traffic was slow and i didn't get any farther than third gear... i was begging to be in fifth so it wouldn't be so loud.

straight pipe here.
header to cat to to pacesetter stainless steel tip.
sound= loud
buzzy = a little bit but not like tanabe crap.
light weight, and dirt cheap.
my favorite exhaust never plan to get rid of it.
i love loud exhausts i'm sick of the pansy quite exhaust. i wanna hear my damn motor!
but i also drive around with no interior, so a loud exhaust is jus a part of the car.
