$2200 and still check engine light is on
When the car goes in for emissions inspection in my state, the pic over the light is not legal, nor will it fool the inspector. He will see the light, pull the codes, get "oxygen sensors" and tell me "Sorry, lady, no sticker. You have 60 days." Knowing as I do that a third pair of oxygen sensors will not solve the problem, I'm in a bind. Until this fiasco, my Honda gave me not one problem.
Hey, I'd buy the VSS for $100 IF I KNEW IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. Online forums say there is a connection between it and the speedometer that doesn't work any more. Is there a test the mechanic could run before laying out more money?

What state are you in? I know that here in NEw York City My car would fail the inspection if the light is on too, but you can find some shops that would pass you car if you give them like 100 dollars.
Wow you got ripped off.
Tune up you could have done yourself for like $50.
Cats are expensive as well as O2 sensors but for $950?
And the control module? Is that the main relay? Depending on how old your car is that might need to be replaced. I know my car 1993 Civic Si wasn't starting and was traced to that but I heard that can cause all sorts of problems because the contacts get old and the solder cracks.

that tune up is ridiculous
If they charged me 2200 bucks to fix a o2 sensor problem i would have just given them the car!!! Just b/c there is a problem with a particular unit doesnt mean everything that functions with the unit shoud be replaced, I think you go ripped man. 2200 dollars could have bought a new dx egine easily not only a dx engine but a b16.
the problem is in the emission system and replaceing the engine will not fix it . and insted of replaceing O2 sensors just becase of the code is throwen is a wast of money anter the new set of O2s were installed the shop should have gotten a clue as honda doesn't make O2 sensors NTK,NGK or Bosche does . as long as it has the OEM plug they work the same! if we get a O2 code the customer gets a option to have just replace the sensor or have it diagnosed the sensor read through the scanner as the computer would see it and the sensor itself is tested also. then is replaced if needed but if the customer doesn't want to pay the extra $$$ and just wants it replaced without us doing the complete diagnostic then they are on their own if the same code comes back up again!
If u did get the work at the Dealer they should be able to furnish the Codes they pulled. I work at a dealership and if that shit went donw where i work someones head would be rolling. If i was u dont spend another cent on it, tell them u want the Shop forman to look at the car and u dont want " This should fix it" u want 'THis will fix it"
