Default Possible gsr swap into ek

Well I got a deal from a friend on a 97 gsr complete swap, motor, tranny and ecu, and hes throwin in an 99 si cluster, all for $2000. I want to swap it into my 96 ek hatch. The motor is being rebuilt by him now, because the guy who had it before blew the piston rings. So the motor will have 0 miles on it. I know this guy he builds good motors. He built my last one and it was good and now that ive sold the car, the new owner says "vtec hits like a sob" in that thing. He will also do the swap and its all included in that $2000. Is it worth it?? And how much more would I have to spend on anything else that might be needed, like motor mounts, etc... ?

if everything is ligit & the guy does good work like you say.. the price is definatly worth it. I personally like to do my own work coz i know whats down & how it was done & i trust my self. But, thats a good deal.

Sh!t,a GSR engine alone can cost any where from 3000 to 3500,and he wants 2000 for whole thing?Like everyone else said,if you really know the dude,do it.If I had that chance,I would swap out my B16 out of my Si for that deal.

Ok, so its good. But heres the thing... I didn't consider the fact that a GSR motor needs premium gas. I will be commuting 60 miles a day to college this year, so I need something that won't burn a hole in my pocket. I also need something dependable. Sooo I was thinking to swap an LS motor in. A decent increase in power and torque, and it doesn't require premium... What do you guys think??

Orrr, what kind of gas would I have to use if I just do a head swap on my d16y7, to y8? And which do you think would be faster, ek with b18b, or ek with vtec head?
