I jsut got my eg6, and it it real quick, except it bogs in third. I can tell beacsue I raced my friends spec v and it tore him up in 1st and 2nd and it hit VTEC in 3rdf and was bogging, because he started to pull abck up on me. I am goign to get it tuned with my VAFC2, that should take car eof the problem right? ALso, the car has Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams.

 

It's probably an issue with the cam. Perhaps it wasn't put in correctly so the timing is off.

 

More likely the fact that it's not tuned.


Also, Skunk2 stage 2s typically want higher compression then stock.

 

Well, I think the problem was that the 2 cylinder spark plug was loose, I ithgtened it back up and it hasn't done it yet. I plan on getting the car dynoed and tuned with my VAFC2 in about 2 weeks. HOpefully this will fix it. I also have a feeling like it may either be the fuel filter/fuel pump. The cams were put in the right way I am sure, that would be my last bet of whats wrong.

 

Well, that wasn't the problem then, I fixed that and it did it again today, but the car kinda died out, like I was outa gas, so I caosted into the gas station and put in 20 bucks worth of gas and it ran fine, I am going to change the fuel filter soon and see how it looks and see how much that helps. If not the only thing I could think of is the fuel pump. Would the pressure rgulator go bad and cause that? What would casue it to bog all of a sudden at the most random times!? Its not the cams, I can feel it bog in different gears now, it jsut happened that it was 3rd gear the other night.I need to get it fixed so it will rape some peoples. Even after I get that done I am goign to tune with the VAFC2. CAN ANYONE HELP ME!?

 

Yea, well I think the problem is the fuel pump. It seems that the fuel pump may be sporatic and not pushing enoguh fuel. Sound right.

 

Just to let you know I have an EG6 here in Japan and 3rd is the worst in that car. The track guys swap that gear out.

 

It is a long gear, its just the tranny on the B16?

 

I think in your case its a combination of both. My car is bone stock with the exception of a Moroso Dizzy and a stainless catback, the engine has never been touched. You should tune your car for the cams you installed. But yes, it is a long gear and this is where the bogging occurs with that car and that tranny.

 

O it wouldnt be my fuel pump at all?
