i bought a reeeeally slow car. i wanted to make it faster. i bought an intake. still slow. i bought an exhaust. still slow. i gutted the interior still slow. $500 to be a fast car? as opposed to the money ive already spent? NOS is getting a real bad reputation thanks to F&F and i hear it everyday but as soon as i get the money, im juiced that damn civic and those "I can't believe you want NOS!" guys will be seeing nothing but my trendy taillights. ha

well, adding parts onto your car isn't just about getting horsepower, tho.

if you want a fast car, you should get something other than a Civic. You'll just be spending lots more on an import than you could have had with a stock 90-93 mustang. (sorry about the comparison, but it holds true)

To me, the import scene is kinda askew. People are worried about being the fastest, which a very, very, very select (ie, rich) few people are. There will always be someone faster, and thats that. Tuning is about something more. Tinkering with perfection? Adding some style? Who knows what it means to you, but thats what it means to me.

I dunno, I'm kinda content in being slow. But then again, I used to drive an Accord, too

Its all about style.

hope this flows right.

oc_civic: Yeah, I'm not bashing NOS, it's just seems like the easy way out most people are doing... I don't put down those drag racers for their skill, reaction times, tuning with dyno's, etc. Again, I'm just a little worried that people nowadays are uneduated and run out and throw in a bottle and cause all sorts of harm...

youd be surprised how hard it is to hurt a motor on nitrous... i just learned some other kid in my town got a bottle.. when asked why, he referanced my car, and its ability to hang with some of the quicker cars around (lets calrify... i do NOT think 14's are fast.. think they are relatively quick.. but imho.. 12's are fast.. once again its all about drag racing for me, and in my :ghey: town of mostly 16-17 se cars 14 anyhting is considered fast ) so he got a bottle to follow my lead... thats a good feeling.. to know that your choices can influence the masses.. in my area i was one of the first people to have a bottle in a civic (except for one kid that used to be on this board.. "builthatch"... i OWE 99% of my honda/nitrous knowledge to him.. ANYWAY.. ) its a cool feeling to pull up to the local mall and have people ask about your car.. i guess the stereotype that it is so bad for the car actualy makes it cooler to some people or something.. i dunno.. like oh whatever hes got nawws dog.. yo yo.. i dunno about it all but i think it is just blown WAY out of proportion...

get exhaust first.. if you get a loud one at least it is a head turner..

just keeping on topic..

If that's what you like to do...
When I pull up to the mall, I'm usually trying to find the best spot to hide from the masses.

yeah well ok hard to believe but people actualy hang out at the malls here, and set up races for the weekend... so i do park considerably far away but they still flock around my boring stock civic... ask raven civic..lol hes scene this circuss first hand, and no i do not necisarily like it, but i like to BS about cars.. thats why im on this site.. same reason i hang out at mall parking lots in the middle of the night.. lol like i stated if drag was not the focus nitrous would definately not be in the mix....
