I take it your not from around here......Umm either IACV or FITV issues...could also be that some air got into the coolant lines...don't really no about the VTEC issues......and i new seal for the axle should fix your leak problem.

the person that put in my old motor (LS) when i bought the car said he knew what he was doing with motor swaps. what i didnt know is that he never did a gsr swap into a civic hx. he used my hx harness from my original engine but vtec doesnt work. he told me vtec wasnt working because i had a broken tps sensor. i bought a new throttle body but my car idle jumps irractically from 2500 to 3000 rpms. it stays like this until i shut off the car. the cars idle was perfect before i swapped out the throttle bodys. has this happened to anybody before? i checked my tranny and it was leaking through a seal on the drivers side so i bought a new seal for the mechanic. the mechaic said this seal went in way to easily without the use of a hammer. matter of fact....he just pushed it in. i said "ok, thanks for your help mechanic." the next time i checked the seal....it moved out of place and is riding on the axle.

put your old throttle body back on......your new throttle body probaly has a bad sensor for tps and or map. check the gaskets on those sensors. you can change the tps and or map for your old sensors on your old throttle body. but why go through all that work....your old throttle body seemed to work just fine. any check engine codes with your old sensor? find your ecu and tell us what ecu is in the car. read the numbers for us. now check your vtec solenoid....where are those wires running to?

as for the seal?.......there are two diffrnet part numbers for the left and right seals. my guess is that you or the mechanic got the worng one. the mechanic should have known that that seal wouldnt fit. go get a seal for your tranny...so maybe gsr drivers side?

if he says he used a wire harness from an old motor it may not be wired up for v-tech and an ls motor doesnt have v-tech unless u put a v-tech head on it that may be some reasons your v-tech isnt kicking in and i couldent understand much of the rest of the paragraph

find your vtec solenoid and tell us where the wires go to...do they go staright to the ecu? if they do....what plugs? big small or the tiny plug. also what is your ecu?
