Doode, you are going to need the whole front clip. You need to strip your car, drill out the welds in the firewall, take that off, put in the JDM one and reweld it. Put in the dash, steering rack, clutch/brake/gas cables and most of the wiring has to be redone. You're looking at about $1600 worth of parts here and that's if you do all of it yourself (welding labor + ~$300). Do not get discouraged though, just time consuming that's all. I might do that myself on the EM1 when I fix it up, unless I sell it. Here's the link, read ALL of it and see for yourself. I bet you're going to be so excited after you're done reading.

on a more personal note i think you are crazy for wanting to do this conversion... i mean most people are right handed (like 87% or 89%) which is why most countries have LHD cars, it allows your shifting/controling hand to be the right and your left hand to control the less precise steering maneuvers

Actually, it might be just me or what but I'd rather shift with my left arm and turn with my right. I'm still a right-handed person, it's just since I use my right hand all the time and therefore, I can do quicker manuevers with it. Shifting is not that important, I mean how hard is it to pop a gear into it's place? If it all came down to a drag strip, then you're right - you have more strength to do that quicker by part of a second. But you always can keep practicing and you'll be better with the left hand later.

As far as your comment on the why we have a left-hand drive cars that's not completely true. There was more going on than just which arm you use. Check this out --> http://www.brianlucas.ca/roadside/

i dont have the time to list everything, and i doubt someone has the time to read everything. sure there are other reasons but they all stem from the same basic concept that most people are right handed.

and in most cases LHD> RHD, i mean with RHD you are stuck having to change the radio, operate the climate control... nearly everything that needs a precise and controled movement is on the left hand side.

in terms of turning, in many turning scenarios the bulk of the time should be spent with your hands on the wheel anyway, only needing to shift once i dont seee where not having your right hand of half of a second means you cant succesfully manevuer the car.

you do get very used to the feeling after you drove or driving a rhd car.that is what makes humans conquer other species due to our adaptabilty in any situation. im sure there are plenty of awesome racers who are right handed but drive a rhd car.

and in terms of tuning....i say being familiar with your car is the most important aspect and not wethaer it is rhd or lhd....or even worse whether your right handed or left handed. and most autocross racers dont shift so fast anyhow.......they shift quickly but not like dragracing where they concentrate on the shifts and force it in..road racers can make up the shifting time with concentrated braking and accelerating over the tenth or so to shift....road racers consentrate more on setting up for the turn then shifting....and most dont even look at ropms...they "feel" them along with bouncing off the rev limiter to know when to shift.

how hard is it to operate the radio with your left hand? or to slide the climate control over for ac or whatnot. cmon now...

and i did read most of why roads are rhdriving over lhdriving.....very interesting stuff and the whole idea isnt stemmed from left hand or right hand people. if this was the case...then everyone would be driving on the same side of the road. the idea is based on what that culture was used to and what lawmakers of that country were used to during the horse era (if you will). the lawmakers were a select few who were used to passing humans/horses/carrying swords/ getting out of the kings way by procedding to the right. this way of "right" carried on through america.
