Default Trouble with shaving

Ok, I recently decided to shave my "Civic" and "DX" symbols off my car. I originally started by heating both with a hair dryer and then pulling them off with dental floss. My problem is this, There is still some excess residue and plastic left on my trunk. I've tried Goo-Gone, floss, and more hair dryer, but nothing is getting these last few peices. Anyone have an idea of what to try?

or rubbing alcohol or wd 40, those work great. Especially for tint removal as well

My dad suggested nail polish remover...I think that might effect the paint in a way though. I'd rather not remove any paint. He seems to think that lighter fluid would also.

If Goo-gone won't do it, I'd try lighter fluid. If there is any discoloration, detail that spot well. If there's a carwash near where you live, roll through the detail department and ask someone. More than likely, they'll give you a tip on what's up with it. It's weird. I've removed emblems with Goo-Gone before, and didn't have the problem you're having.

Well, I decided to go out with Goo-Gone and a razor blade and give it another shot. I got all the shit off with only minor scratches and dings to the clear coat. It looks good from a distance but up close you can see the scratches. I'm not too worried though, I plan on taking it to Maaco anyways to get some dings removed, surface rust removed, and repainted later this summer. Thanks for the help guys.

Next when doing this do your self a favor and pick up the tool that does this. Its a big eraser that goes on the end of a air die-grinder. It does a perfect job. Thats what the body shops do. Oops might have worked aswell.
