Default min. compression tales?

ok...got a beater....94 civic 4 dorr. was sitting for about a year and was smoking at higher rpms. went to go start it.....and it wouldnt fire up. long story short.....i know the rings are shot.....and compression is tested at around 50 psi fpr all four. i know this is low.....

anyone have any info on what i could possible do to make the compression a little higher? anyone know what is basically the lowest compression i owuld need to start the car? i want to be lazy and not rebuild or put in a new motor.

it would be extreamly shitty but u could probly get it to run around 100-120's :dunno:

if it's a beater, rip it apart, hone the cylinders with some 600 gritt sand paper & toss some auto parts store rings on it FTW! :chuckles:

lol...do you feel like tearing apart a beater? im just looking for a quick fix....otherwise bitz and pieces of this car are going on ebay. i basically just want it started for the demolition derby. and i kind of told myself that i will never pull apart a motor again. im sick of all that stuff.

what i dont understand is that it ran before.....i didnt do anything but park it.....went to go to start it...and nothing. how did i lose compression with it just sitting there? i should be able to regain some compression with a quick fix right? valves are not stuck open and they open and close normal
