Default squeak while turning hard left

When i looked under the car and had my friend turn the wheel hard to the left it sounded like the metal moving arm or whatever its called that the tie rod is connected onto that has the rubber boot.

This normally happen and does it need replacing? If so then is there a pic tutorial on how its done?

Check your lower ball joints!
My kid drove home one day with a squeak like that- the ball joint was broken off, but still in the socket! (he should have your name!)

The metal thingy in the boot is the inner tierod.

It only makes the squeak when the car is running. I can do the same thing while its off and i get no squeak. Now im thinking its the pump. Any thoughts?

How does the steering fluid look? If it's black (which it probably is judging from all three of mine), turkey baster some out or drain the system and refill with Honda power steering fluid. Could be the pump or the belt.

I'm pretty sure it self bleeding, although I only remove as much as the baster will pull out. I like to do it every other year and not all at once. If anything just turn the wheels lock to lock and that should get the air out.

As a matter of fact, I just picked up a Civic yesterday with a blown steering pump (among other things) and it sounds like more of a metal on metal sound but not a high pitch squeal. If I remember correctly, the pulley was wobbly too.

Ive read that you use the turkey thing to take out the old fluid from the resiviour bottle and put in new fluid then turn the wheels side to side nearly locking at both directions while up in the air. You do this once per week till its clear in the bottle.

What do you think of that process?

check the power steering belt!!! when and if the belt is glazed/cracked, and the pump is put under load (turning the wheel untill it stops), the belt will slip
