I'm pretty sure it self bleeding, although I only remove as much as the baster will pull out. I like to do it every other year and not all at once. If anything just turn the wheels lock to lock and that should get the air out.



As a matter of fact, I just picked up a Civic yesterday with a blown steering pump (among other things) and it sounds like more of a metal on metal sound but not a high pitch squeal. If I remember correctly, the pulley was wobbly too.
