Default Power question!!!!!

i have 1 thing im not really sure y people do..........1 why do people change just the head and noting else say like on a gsr...wen they switch the head to type R....what does it really do?????? does it make a big ass perfomance difference????

Different heads are ported differently, more power

i never heard of people changing a gsr head with a type r. you would probly get only 20hp for 2grand

o0o so0o it really does make a difference....... switching heads...thas kool... so the best head would be the gsr???? and ported different...wat u mean exactly???

he's reffering to the intake and exhaust ports. different sizes/ shapes (usually bigger) = more airflow = more power. ever heard of a "port & polish"?

yeah i have actually.......thanx alot now i know for sure what it really does.....as for changing my head to a type R head...use think its pointless on my gsr?????? i plan on going turbo...does that play a factor?

If you have a gsr right now, swap the head with a b16 head. Should be a perfect fit, i think, but the b16 head has a smaller combustion chamber and will bump up your compression very slightly. The b16 heads also flow better than the gsr's. Type r head is a b16 head thats been port and polished. b16 head on gsr block is called a poor mans type r setup. hth
