Default steering noise

i have a 1992 cx and i am having some wierd noises from the steering/suspension... i have checked alot of stuff but im not sure what to check for...

when i turn i hear a clunk and if i change the direction of steering it clunks again the steering wheel has alot of play in it when driving... i have checked the tierods but im not sure what to check for if theyre bad they both have the same movement in them and if i hold the tierod and someone turns the wheels i can feel the clunk

it makes the noise no matter if im moving or sitting still and it doesnt matter how much i turn the wheel its always when i start turning or when i change directions of turning

it all started when i took a sharp turn

Sounds to me like you need a new rack and pinion.

or inner tie rods.....do the same method as above (holfing the tierods) but check the inner ones. if one side does it and not thte other...then it is just that tierod...if both sodes have movement...then i suggest rack and pinion over both inner tierods.
