Now I have to admit that while taking the ground wires off the motor to take it out, I can see that they're all old and rusted looking. I'd rather not put them back on the new motor. What's up the the ones on ebay? Comes to about $25 with shipping. If anything, they look better than the ones on the car, and ARE "healthier".

Any opinions? I'm the kind of person that taps wires when soldering together instead of twisting them together, so you I'm gonna change them ANYWAY. Just did a search on ebay and thought I'd run it here. 8-10hp gains? I'm not looking for that, but to have better wires, it has to help like better air filters help HP.

You won't gain any power from them. If you want better wires, save yourself money and pick up some heavy gauge wire, some eyelets and a crimping tool and make it yourself.

Edit... I wouldn't buy them for the HP gain, just for the piece of mind. $25 might actually be better on the wrists from crimping. I just wanted to know if you guys knew of any integrity in the wires on ebay.

They look pretty solid from the pictures, but you never know. I am pretty fuzzy on the gauge size, but it is really up to you. I would assume something like 4 gauge would be plenty.

I am actually a little interested in this since my grounds are a complete mess and as soon as I turn the ignition to the ON position, I lose all radio reception.

$25 isn't much...how about you become a guinea pig and try them out for us? h:

There are several different methods of ground wires.

1. You could just replace your existing ground wires with better and thicker ones.

2. Earth grounding - where all of your grounds go to your battery neg. terminal. This is what you pictured above.

3. Hyper grounding (?) - This is basically a daisy-chain from one side of your engine bay to the other.

I was going to do a homemade one a while ago. From researching it, most people said 8 guage wire is plenty and 4 guage was an overkill (though it looks cooler). 4 guage is more expensive and harder to crimp because of it's size.

That ebay one should work fine.

Actually it work's okay for me. I had a problem with the lights and my radio everytime I play hard bass music. just don't use that round thing that came with it. it's useless

I'm gonna have a large sub going into the hatch compartment, so I'm going to go with a larger alternator. Do you think your problems with lights and radio had more to do with a smaller alternator, or from the ground wires?

put it this way I'm running 2 12 boston series acoustic with 1ohm each. and top of that I got 1 big kenwood amp 1000 watts and a pair of 5' boston in the front 2 6 1/2 boston series serate in the back running on a 4way kenwood amp. no problem with it honest...
