Default apexi n1? question

i just recently purchased a slightly used apexi N1 catback for my ej coupe, but it doesnt sound like i expected. slightly high pitched, even though ive heard that they have a rather deep tone just loud.

any ideas?

plus i am having this rattling soung when im at idle, as if the pipes are hitting something.

any ideas?

any help would be thankful.

rattling is most likely ur heatshield....
as for the N1... which kind do you have? the N/A or Turbo? the turbo one is bigger and has a deeper tone and the n'a is skinnier and is higher pitched

the amount of miles on the exhaust plays a factor on how loud it is also. i have a magnaflow catback that i had on my civic on my teg and its starting to get raspy and it never used to sound like that. the materials in the muffler deteriorate with a lot of time and miles.

it's either heat-shield.
or your rubber bushings are going bad, real bad. this is for the rattling noise.

and high pitch noise, it's probably a age factor.

...or one of the hangers holding the muffler is contacting metal since the muffler position might have been pushed back and that metal to metal contact will make a nasty rattling sound at idle and low speeds.
