Seatbelt Chime on '06 Civic

The weight sensor I could perhaps see being a problem, but usually the driver side has no weight sensor.

I digress, point is that at least with 6th gen Civics, the seat under the plug has no effect on the airbag.
Checked the plugs in the rangers we have at work... guess how many wires....2 and this is for the drivers side. When unplugged, throws the airbag light.... but who knows about the civic...

it woudlnt make much sense or any to have a sensor in the drivers seat..... unless they have new airbags that wait to deploy when you ass is already thrown off of it... hehe....
but just think about how the sensor works... the metal clip in the seat belt must complete the circuit or somethign like tthat..... so it cant be too hard to re-rig or something...... perhaps?
and as to the bashing which is quite common here.......... what about if hes just chillin in the parking lot with his car on listenin to music?

How many of you that condemned me for not wearing seatbelt smoke? Each one takes a day off your life. How many of you drink alcohol? Each drink kills your brain cells. Better yet, how many of you follow this same path and walk up to smokers and educate them on the dangers of smoking??? I could go on and on....
This was a technical question regarding the ability to turn off the belt beeper... not a "tell my why I should wear my belt" plea.
The answer I guess is to go to a junk yard and buy the belt clip.

Wow a bunch of wise asses on here. Too bad, it makes it impossible to find the information you are looking for with all this "you should do this, I'm not going to answer your question" bs. I found this on automotivetech.org; it worked for a 98 civic but takes some time. It will remove ANY beep from the car, seat belt, door, keys in ignition, headlights on, so beware.

Door Buzzer Removal
Remove the fuse panel nuts (2)
I think there was a screw also.
There is a gray box about 1"x3"x4" connected to the back of the fuse panel. At the bottom of this gray box is a plug with about 8 or so wires in it. Unplug this cable.
After disconnecting the gray box (ICU), there is a clip on the short sides that holds it on. Unclip this gray box. On the ICU, there is 2 clips on each of the long sides. Use a flat screwdriver to push these clips.. Try not to break them or you will have to use some black tape to hold it together later.
Once you have the ICU open, you will see there is a circuit board, and on the top right corner is a piezo tweeter. Pull the circuit board from the housing and remove the piezo tweeter using a soldering iron. (it is the round black plastic thing about 1cm in diameter by 1cm tall, with a hole in the top) If you just want the beeper to be quieter, I suggest a little piece of tape over the hole. I chose to remove it altogether.
Put the whole thing back together and plug the ICU back into the fuse panel and reconnect the wire to the ICU.
Now your hazards and wipers should still work, however you will not have that annoying beeper any longer.
This fix took about 25 minutes but I had to figure out how it all came apart.
