Default SOHC Engine

How much u think it would cost to get my 1.6L SOHC VTEC bored out, port and polished and get the bottom end built and stuff? Would it be cheaper than doin a swap, and how much horsepower would I expect to gain? just wondering if swapping is really worth it. And what are some other ways to add cheap power to this engine, already have 4-2-1 DC Sports Headers, A'PEXi full exhaust from headers back/high flow cat/resonator/N1 Muffler, AEM Cold Air Intake, Konig 17" powder coat white rims/lowered w/ full Eibach suspension...anyone got any ideas? in college and short on money right now

WOW where did you put the other header after you bolted up the first one? :chuckles:
Going NA with a SOHC motor is gonna be exspensive and stupid. The only thing worth while on a SOHC motor is boost. You can peice your own kit together for about 1200 using mix of used and new parts. Depending on turbo and how much boost you want to run you could see over 200 easily, making it considerbly more powerfull then just a swap. You dont need to build the motor untill you start getting closer to 230 hp, in which case you could pick up rods, pistons, arp head studs, new head gasket, and new rings for about 1000 and be good to around 350-400hp, at which point your gonna run into big issues with stock sleeves and anything over 300 is gonna be a traction nightmare
