Door Speaker troubles?
ok...I am gonna buy some speakers for my 2dr honda civic and I was wondering the size that the speakers are. Also I have been reading around and have read that some of the speakers are too big for the door and that you need to build spacers or something so they can fit in the door correctly. Thanks for the help.
I own a 97 civic coupe, and i recently bought a 6.5" Pioneers and they dont fit as the stock speakers does. But they do fit though! If u do buy them u might have to modify the base where the stock speaker rest on!
if you go to bestbuy or something like that they should beable to help you. Maybe look and see if a Chiltons guide has what speaker size it is. i have pioneers in my truck and they dont sound too bad if your not looking to pay the money for alpine.
yea thats the only thing i dont like not being able to put on stock grills. maybe im just paranoid but im afraid someones gonna break into my truck and steal my stuff. HAHAHA i dont think pioneers are worth the effort tho. lol

Ok this is an interesting topic with which pissed the hell outta me when I put in my JL 6.5" components...the depth on the stock speakers is shallow as shit, and the diameter was slightly off on my 98 EX coupe...i think they may be 6'' even tho they say 6.5"

6.5" are it. If they dont fit just cut the plastic behind the speaker where the magnet hits. I have a pair of Canton 6.5" oversized in mine. That was a tight fit but with patience they will fit..
