Default Door Speaker troubles?

ok...I am gonna buy some speakers for my 2dr honda civic and I was wondering the size that the speakers are. Also I have been reading around and have read that some of the speakers are too big for the door and that you need to build spacers or something so they can fit in the door correctly. Thanks for the help.

if you go to bestbuy or something like that they should beable to help you. Maybe look and see if a Chiltons guide has what speaker size it is. i have pioneers in my truck and they dont sound too bad if your not looking to pay the money for alpine.

:chuckles: Most likely not. I think I'm just going to cut a hole in the stock grilles so it covers up the shitty holes but you can still see the speaker. I'll throw up pics eventually.

Ok this is an interesting topic with which pissed the hell outta me when I put in my JL 6.5" components...the depth on the stock speakers is shallow as shit, and the diameter was slightly off on my 98 EX coupe...i think they may be 6'' even tho they say 6.5"

is just the the stock speakers doesnt have the coils(and other components) so big, so it fits smooth, but better speakers will have bigger coils and components which wont make it fit like the stock speakers do!

6.5" are it. If they dont fit just cut the plastic behind the speaker where the magnet hits. I have a pair of Canton 6.5" oversized in mine. That was a tight fit but with patience they will fit..
