Letter from Honda
I got that same letter yesterday, I only have 103k! I'm looking forward to free parts! I says they'll fix any emmission related parts, I have a rusted cat and header resulting in an exhaust leak. I hope they'll fix that!
hey guys, i just called them. this is what i found out:
-if you paid for repairs, as i did when i bought the car to get it smogged i had to buy a new cat which was $600+, send them a bill of what was done and prof of method of payment.
-you can fax or mail it to them fax#(909)664-9009
-downside it will take 4-6 weeks for processing.
hope this helps.

If it only applies in california, why whould they send me the letter in michigan?
Edit: I just re-read the letter. It says nothing in the letter about having to be in California! It said only emissions-related parts are covered, and for a complete list of warranted parts refer to the warranty book. I downloaded the warranty book from www.hondacars.com. Under the emissions section the following parts were listed for emissions warranty:
• Evaporative emission control canister.
• Evaporative emission purge control diaphragm valve.
• Evaporative emission purge control check & relief valve.
• Evaporative emission purge control vacuum switching valve.
• Fuel tank.
• Fuel fill pipe and cap.
