Default Brake set up?????????????

i have been looking into getting a new brake set up but can not really find anything that fits the needs that i have. i am just looking to get some feed back on my ideas and some new input to take into consideration. As for now, i am running brembo slotted with ceramic pads in the front and rear disc conversion with brembo blanks and EBC greenstuff in the rear. Its an alright set up but after braking hard a few times, they heat up to much and are beat. i am looking for a reasonably affordable brake set up that will fit under 15 inch wheels. Some of my options are to get a fast brakes 11 inch kit with wilwood 4 piston calipers from a VW (they have dust seals and look better)http://fastbrakes.com/shop/pro...379
. Another option is to just upgrade what i have now with steel lines, new pads and rotors, and basically stick the same set up. or get a rotora kit which requires 16 inch wheels. Any input is welcome. and jsut so you know what the kit is for, my car is a 95 dx coupe with Boosted B18C soon to be pushing around 400hp (need tuning).
P.S. i do not want a kit that requires 17 inch wheels. i live in PA and the roads are shit, i have had 17 before and i hated them.

I was thinking of getting the fastbrakes kit, but wasn't sure about the fitment with 15" wheels. I think there was a disclaimer that there are certain wheels that it cannot fit with.

Maybe you should try upgrading to the SS lines and different hardware (new rotors and pads) to see if they offer better stopping power before investing on an entirely new setup.

i thought about doing that, but i would rather go directly to something better right off hand. i talked to the guy that runs fastbrakes for a long time and he said that they will fit but only with certian offsets. to use the factory 15 inch wheels, you have to use a 3mm spacer which he will through in for free as long as you specify it. everything that i have heard bad about the wilwood brakes is that they fall apart alot, but that is because the basic civic design does not have dust seals and they just wear out too quickly. The ones the he uses are made for VW and for some reason the have the dust seals which should make them relaible. The only thing i noticed is that it looks like the pad surface seems to be pretty small. If you go to the fast brakes site nad compare the 11 inch kit with the dust seal calipers, to the 11 inch kit with the intagra calipers, it looks like the pad surface is actually bigger with the intagra calipers. It is only a picture, but even if the pad surface was the or smaller, i would think the 4 piston compared to the stock 1 caliper, would make that up plus extra stopping power. the only thing i know about brakes is what i have learned myself, i have never been told anything about them, so all my information my thoughts, so i could easily be wrong

If you're brakes are fading from just a couple stops on the street you need to upgrade your brake fluid and pads. Most stuff from Pep Boys and such can only be used for daily driving.

I run Motul 600 with Hawk HP+ pads. Now you will trade some dusting and squealing for more braking power, but definitely worth it.

i am also looking at this fast brake kit (http://fastbrakes.com/shop/product_i...roducts_id=342) which comes with remanufactured intagra calipers and 11 inch brakes all the way around. I need new pads and rotors, one of my calipers is beat and i dont have braided lines yet. So this would replace everything for pretty cheap as well as upgrading my lines and bigger rotors. Seems like a good idea to me, am i wrong? this kit along with some good brake fluid, i think would make a world of difference compared to my current setup and wont brake the wallet to bad

If you are not racing (track days or autocross) you are just wasting your money. They stock braking system works fine for most of you. I'd say most of you guys are using 50% of your braking system.

Everyone thinks they are the top notch driver in the world, til they attend their first autocross event. Believe me when I say most drivers only use 40-50% of their car's potential.

i know i am not that best driver in the world. i am just saying, 665 for that kit is not much more than replacing all the stuff i need, plus it will look nicer. If i were to replace my front slotted brembo rotors it would be like 320, plus 120 for brake lines, plus 60 for front pads, plus money for atleast one caliper. that around 500 or more if i get good prices. for an extra 150 bucks, i can bigger rotors all around. i am not asking if i am going to be wasting my money or if you think i need it or will use it. i am wondering if it will stop any better a fade less than my current set up?

Where the heck are you shopping?
Front brake rotors = $60
rear brake rotors = $40
Front and rear pads by AEM = $100
Stainless steel lines = $100
------------------------------------
$300 total.

It will not stop you any better since your brakes are not what is stopping you...

It will fade less, however I find it hard to belive that anyone is fading brakes on the street unless thier fluid is like really really old.
