info on a boosted dx motor
my friend is running a greddy kit with side mount intercooler on a his dx 6g dx hatch..full interior boosting 12psi on stock internals...hes a good driver and made about 6 trips down the track ran consistent 14.3s-14.5s....
just to give people an idea of what the motor is capable of on boost:naughty:
and hes been boosting 12psi all day long on stock internals for about 3months now...

that's um...:ugh: yeah. I mean, why did he even bother? Did he get the turbo for like, 20 bucks? I have a need for speed too, but dayum. I'm not gonna boost my d15  I'm gonna be a hybrid whore myself. But, it's his car and if he can run it like that, mad props to him. Because right about now, he could easily own my ass
Read my post again there, racerboy. I never said that it was a d15. I just said I wouldn't boost my D15, since I have a 95 Dx. I was trying to get the point across that stock dx motors aren't good to boost. get my meaning?
We're not debating the speed of the car, we're commenting on status of the stock DX engine. I have no doubts that it's a quick car, but the engine will be toast soon, no doubt. And turbos alone don't make cars move. The car's engine is on borrowed time IMO.
I know a lot of boosted SOHC motors with stock internals. Nothing wrong with them and are probably faster than most of the trash talkers here.

Is he on stock fuel system?
Tell your friend he can drop it to 14 flat/high 13s with a front mount.
Also, he should look at water injection.
Either way, the temps will be a lot friendlier to the engine, you'll get more timing advance, and lots more power.
