Well considering the motor is rated at 160 to the crank stock, taking into account about a 15% loss, you were making about 136 to the wheels. So thats about a 22hp gain over stock. Thats not bad for basic bolt ons, and everything but the header will still be usefull should he choose to go boost. Running an agressive cam will gain HP but it does affect fuel millage considerbly, so it shouldnt be done just to make 10hp

i will agree with you on that, but i still think cams would shoot him in the right direction, nothing that yeilds great power gains is very gas friendly if you using it.

cams should not be done a mild set up. I would boost, maybe beef up the valve train, and THEN maybe consider a cam, but there are plenty of very good numbers coming from turbo set ups running nothing more then t3/t4 turbo and stock guts at 8-10 psi. Gas is way to exspensive to blow it on a cam so early in a build up

so true but he doesn't want to go turbo as mentioned in the thread so skunk stage on cams will be of value stock valvetrain stock idle good power gains with little tuning required and i dont see how a stage 1 cam is going to shoot down his gas milage they are only alittle more agressive than a ctr cam.
