Default Wanting to do b18b swap in 5th Gen Civic

Hi guys, I am new to the Civic world. I have been researching on Civics for a year now. I just turned 18 and I currently own a 96 Ford Escort LX. Which will own a civic (2.0SPI stock v. stock).

Anywho, I am in the process of buying a 94 5thgen civic dx or ex. I found a good condition civic for $2k, but a 200k mile engine. Anyways, I have some background knowledge on the series of hondas/acuras and I plan on doing the b18b swap. I'ma stick with OBD1, not the b18a. The car im getting is a 94 EX with auto tranny. I've done an auto to manual swap in my Escort a few months ago. Since I plan on doing the B18b swap into my Civic, I know I'm going to have to get a b-series tranny, so I will be doing auto to manual swap as well. Around here I can get the b18b motor and tranny from an RS, LS, or GS for less than $1k. My Escort motor and 5spd tranny was $900. So hey!!

I know the rules for forums, I've searched honda-tech and honda-acura. I've gotten the answers that I wanted, but I got TOO many different ones and I'm all confused. If you guys could kindly post the whole nine yds in this thread, it would help me and every other member out there.

What all will I need extra to do an auto to manual swap to the B-series in the 5thgen DX or EX??
For starters I know(Based on my knowledge from my Escort atx to mtx):
*5spd B-series tranny(doesnt matter which one right now, what year model)
*MTX Brake Resovoir
*MTX Clutch MC
*Slave Cylinder(should be on tranny)
*MTX Pedal Cage
*Shift Linkage(what to get??)
*Axles(what to get??)
*B-series Clutch Kit(staying OEM for now)
*Flywheel
*Tranny Mounts(which ones?? w/o need for welding or will i need swap kit?)
*MTX ECU(I used my ATX ecu on my escort when i did swap, if its the same i can get the car running. i know there wont be Rev. lights)

What all will I need to do the b18b integra engine swap into a 5thgen??

I dont have emissions here in SC, but i dont wont to go thru any wiring hassles between OBD types, so i plan on sticking with 94-00 OBDI/II RS, LS, or GS only B18 engines.

I know I need the RS, LS, or GS Acura Integra engine from 94-00.

What else would I need??

At the j/y's here, the wiring harnesses are still on the engine, as well as the distributor and accessories bracket.
I plan on keeping A/C no doubt. I guess I have to buy a motor mount swap kit also. What about the exhaust manifold? Will the b18 line up to the 94 exhaust??

So if someone could kindly tell me what all will I need to do the complete swap over, that would be great!!!

Thanks,
Xscort (Proud owner of two rivals, Escort vs. Civic) Muahahhaa

escort and civic arent really rivals... but anyways

B18B into an Eg u would need ECU, B series integra axles, mounts *could use itnegra or hasport or whatever...* etc... everything u need and parts will be listed somewhere on this site...

also for the trans, you will need a hydraulic trans, so dont confused that with previous B serious cars cuz pre 92 have cable

Stick with Obd1... try and find an obd1 engine which would be 92-95
so integra and below... if you cant get anything but a 96+ just convert it to OBD which you will need a dizzy, injectors, ecu, etc...

integra shift linkage and as for b series clutch... if u can find a cheap used on like for i dunno 20 bucks.... go for it i guess... aftermarket kits are as cheap and as durable

im doing the b18b swap as well into my eg6, its a 96 motor and tranny (got those plus ecu for 300 bucks) im not too sure with the non-hatch civics, but i dont have to change any mounts (im leaving mine auto) but since my car is obd1 and the motor is obd2 i do have to change the dist. and ecu. i looked up the part numbers at work for the injectors on my stock d15 and on the b18b and those are the same. definetly have to get the integra axles or the civic axles will snap (hard to get money on snapped axles), wiring harness is the same and thats really it.

umm.... is it in ur car yet? cuz ill tell u something that apprently has been known for a while ur stock mounts wont work with the swap.... u need b series mounts....

and yes since its a obd2 engine u will have to change out the usual things, dizzy, ecu, etc...

and no ur civic axles will not work unless they are B series axles... which only came in Del Sol vtecs,Integras, etc.... so yeah i call :bs:
