Tapping in the engine? Dont know what the problem is?

did it throw any CEL's?

did you check your timing belt? (loose?)

put a screwdriver to your ear and use it as a stheathciscope (sp) to see where the general noise is coming from.

yup. yup. While your doing it, lol, put the screw drive on an injector and listen, its a cool noise. Atleast, I thought so when I was troubleshooting mine

OK, timing belt is good, the spark plugs were good and I took it to another place today and they said i threw a rod does that sound correct? should i fix this motor or just replace it.

I'd just put new spark plugs in and see what happens. It's only a couple bucks. Then try the valve adjustment (it's really easy).

if you threw a rod i would just junk the motor and buy another.

Throwing a rod is a bitch. Just buy a new one.

ok guys, I was driving home and the motor blew. So I'm guessing it was a thrown rod. So now I have to decide whether to get the same motor or go with a better one. Time to start saving up. Thanks for all the feedback
