so my clutch went and my local garage was charging a grand :doood: to do it. so i said f u and am getting the car back tommorow and installing a new clutch and flywheel.
1) is it legal to hitch my car to a friends truck and tow it (with me steering my car using turn signals, etc.) from the garage to my house? which is a total distance of 3/4 miles btw.
2) i have my owners manual, this write up: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s....php?p=1715569, air tools, and 2 friends.. on a scale of 1-10 how hard would you rate doing something like this?

If you follow that DIY to the letter it's like a 3 on the 1-10 scale, without the DIY a 7. But it will take a while, plan for 8-10 hours to be safe. That DIY rocks so hard:rockon:

Must have been too sleepy this morning, didn't see #2.
I'll race ya, I'm doing my clutch this weekend. No airtools and only me. I seem to remember my arms getting tired holding up the tranny while trying to get a bolt started hanging over the fender and not f'in up the splines.
With help it shouldn't be really hard. Although doing it yourself, you know what got tightened and where you lay your tools and misc bolts. Without help, besides the above PITA, getting out from under the car 14,000 times kinda sucks, especially at my age.
Ready,,,,go.

1 tip... its alot easier to drop ur car all the way to the ground when u unbolt the tranny. once u have it on the ground unbolt, jack the car back up and slide the tranny out, or move it outta the way to put the clutch in.. once u have everything installed drop the car back to the ground it will be a lot easier to bolt the tranny back on when u only have to lift it 2 inches..

It can be tough to get the tranny on the pins, very tight fit. I got the tranny off (after finding the one bolt I missed on the lower back side). Hopefully the tiny amount of rust around the throw out bearing and tiny amount of roughness was causing all the noise, cause the rest of the clutch still looks brand new after about 61,000 miles. Flywheel has 331,000, never resurfaced-still looks new.
Now I've got to hold the prick up and start a bolt-fun for the back!
