In terms of top speed, couldn't you simply check your speed at 1/2 redline in top gear and double that for your gear limited top speed? I think I calculated one time that my B18C1 swap would run out around 140 mph with that system.

Just doubling your speed wouldn'tgive you the most accurate results. I've plotted RPM vs. speed in 5th gear to calculate max RPM. The three points formed a slight curve, so it's not simply linear. A graphing calculator is an easy way to fit a curve and then extrapolate a value.
Anyway, I got about the same top speed as you with this method. I have a B18C1 with a B16 transmission.

so many variables.....and this is to say if even a d series has enough power and or staright away to accomplish this. go with the vx man....you can go 220!!!!!!!!! lol in my vx i loved downshifting into second on the highway. i dont think i ever used 3rd fourth or fifth in that car.

why does everyone hate this kid???
I mean yes he may post stupid stuff but a lot of people here do.
Did he have a retarded ass thread elsewhere that I missed or something??
anybody want to fill me in on why this newbie deserves more bashing than others

So in a nutshell.... If you're looking for a car that's quick on low end acceleration, but gets a lower highway rpm and a higher top speed, it would be cool to have gears 1,2,3 and 4 from an Si, and 5th gear from a DX LX model?
