Default just drained my MTF, now what?

ok, yeah, i know, the obvious thing is to fill it up. im pretty sure that i found the right bolt using the owners manual. however, i got a funnel with a long hose and it cant get any MTF in the transmission. there is a little thing that rocks back and forth just inside the hole that is stopping me from putting the funnel in far enough to fill it up. im gettin pissed. any ideas or pics as to how to fill this up? do i even have the right bolt? im filling it through the wheel well through a bolt that uses a 3/8ths in drive just above and to the right of the drain plug...is this right?

98 civic D16Y8...i already tried to cut the end of the funnel cause there was a ton of extra plastic. i think i have it filled now, but im not sure how to check it. now theres MTF all over the fill hole. its not like i can stick my whole finger in there and dunk it in to see if its full. that little thing thats moving in there is blocking my finger from going in

book calls for 2 qts.....maybe 2.1. and speed sensor is fastest way. to check if your full or not just remove the plug that you are using. if nothing leaks out then you are to low. if anything leaks...then you are to high. dont forget to have the car level.

They don't have a filler hole on the tranny like on B series?

You fill the transmission up until it runs out of the hole. The car must be level.

(EDIT: and you can do what itrdc2 said. Unscrew the speed sensor, leave the fill plug out of the front of the tranny, and fill it up until it runs out of the front hole.)
