i think i need to get a new header soon. my stock one is rusting. everyone on this site seems to hate ebay products, but are the $60 ebay headers any good?

all bull crap just get the sockets you need and a breaker bar, some WD-40,a jack and some support jacks that easy and yes you can get good headers on ebay all the same stuff dc/obx/ or holley which is what i have i put them up to my friends dc's look exactly the same right down to the welds. what ever you get make sure that they are smog exempt if that is something that affects you.

if it were me, i wouldnt be replacing it cause of a little rust. unless its got a hole in it or you want better performance, i'd just leave the old one alone. dont replace it with another stock one unless it fails.

A header is easier to install than a CAI sometimes

Actually, I think theres a rust hole in it . I'm not sure since its blocked by the heat sheild or what ever the metal thing is blocking it. some time I'll pull that off and have a look. I put on a cat back about 3 months ago and I remember there being rust on the cat and header. A few days ago a friends dad looked at my car and said there was an exhaust leak near the header, so I assume there is a rust hole.

cool. sorry if i came off like an a hole. if theres a hole, i'd definately replace it. gonna help your gas milage and make your car sound a whole lot better than it prolly does now. im not sure about the ebay headers for hondas, but the cheap ebay jeep exhaust manifolds are about as reliable as they come...longer lasting than the stock ones for sure...and about 1/4 the cost.

OK for my sanity, will everyone please STOP saying HEADERS while speaking of there 4 CYLINDER CIVIC!!! You have a HEADER, note the absence of the S, that is because YOU ONLY HAVE ONE! UG biggest pet peeve exspecialy when the same thing is done over and over again. /end rant

Now it relation to your question, it is VERY simple job to do even with basic handtools. I would say that if you want to get something from ebay, get atleast a DC sport manifold, and make sure its either stainless (make sure its 321 stainless as you may see some 304 and 409, and those tend to crack at high exhaust temps) or ceramic coated. This will keep it from rusting and looking fairly sharp over time.
