Default LS complete swap

Ok. Don't jump on me about searching because I searched for well over an hour and I did get lots of info, however I need a little more. I have a 96 civic ex with a blown head gasket. And basically for me to get it fixed it's gonna run me around 1000 dollars. I figure I might as well get a different motor. I was thinking ls, so I went hmotorsonline and I see they cost about 750 for:

- Motor
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Injectors
- Fuel Rail
- Throttle body
- Alternator
- Distributor

I know I'm still going to need a b-series tranny, ecu, and wiring harness.

1)Do I need axles?

2)What else is missing from the list?

3) Will I need a different clutch master cylinder?

4)And are there any sites that sell a full LS swap?

You have to use your Civic wiring harness on the LS motor, the LS is a 2 piece harness and the civic have a 1 piece harness. I did this swap on my 98 civic. You aslo need a b16 rear mount, and a b16 front uppper mount.
B series axles, and a B series shiftlinkage is needed too. And you would also need an OBD2 LS motor to go into your OBD2 civic, Unless you get a conversion harness and convert to OBD1. You would also need to do some wiring modifications.

You will need the rear bracket, and the upper driverside stud that bolts onto the block. NOT THE MOUNTS! Also you need a B linkage,B hydro tranny, You might get away with your ecu, B axels and your good to go.

what obd is the swap, if its obd1 then you need an obd2-obd1jumper harness for the ecu. go for a obd2 b18b itll save you on getting a jumper harness. also you need LS axles and the halfshaft, most swaps come with the halfshaft, but find out for sure. Motor Mounts. ECU. Wiring Harness. If your transmission doesn't come with the fork or the slave cylinder, then you'll need those as well. Theres tons of info out there. I did an LS swap in my 92 hatch. Have fun. http://motorswaps.tripod.com/id2.html

i agree even though you saw the 750 price on the ls your going to be in way over that when your done not to mention if it costs 1000 dolars to change a head gasket not tellin what they will charge you to do a swap.
so change your own head gasket, get the haynes on your car and just take your time. might need to take the head to a machine shop but it will be less than 1000$ and alot less than buying everthing you need for an ls then getting it put in.

:werd:
are you planning on paying someone to do your swap?
Yeah changing the head gasket isin't that hard to do, take the head off, get it shaved, replace the gasket. your good to go. maybe a week tops, depending on how long it takes your shop to get around to shaving a head.
